Reviews
Great little cafe with quite a few grub options from something sweet to sandwiches. We had hot chocolate that was delicious on our way back from Fort Barton. The patio would be awesome for enjoying the view in the spring/summer.
Small place that packs a punch with their flavorful food! Very polite staff during the visit. Ordered inside then sat down outside on the patio since it was a nice day. The fixed seating against the patio railing is terrible but the chairs are ok.
Order:
Quiche (3.5 / 5)
Godfather sandwich (2.5 / 5)
Marscarpone berry cake (4 / 5)
Overall, the food was good but missed the mark a little bit. I would rate this place a 3.5 but Google limits to whole stars only.
My only major complaint is that the Godfather sandwich has so much potential but there’s was almost no meat inside the sandwich and too many peppers (see pics). I expected more when I’m ordering a sandwich that is supposed to have 3 kinds of meat in it. So The Godfather was a bit of a let down. An easy fix would be to add a few more slices of meat to it!
The marscarpone berry cake was good but a little dry.
Stopped here for a quick coffee date with my wife. As expected the atmosphere was nice, but the coffee itself was particularly great. I very much recommend both for the location and the coffee.
Great cafe with a view. The servers are very polite and helping. Highly recommended if you like carrot cake and ramen. Also, it is a good place to hangout during summer. The view of the lake is very beautiful from the cafe windows as it is located at the extreme end of the lake. They have a great food menu as well.
Regrettably, I must share my experience at this coffee shop. As a Providence resident and a new Tiverton School District employee, I was initially excited about visiting this spot during my breaks. However, after ordering the "Ms. Claus Latte" and discovering it contained whole milk, I politely asked if it could be remade or if I could purchase a new one with my preferred milk due to lactose intolerance. The counter woman said I must pay & I was okay with that.
While I was paying & my phone call was on the counter my friend on the call remarked that in New York, they would have likely remade it for free & the woman behind the counter heard it. I looked at the woman in embarrassment hoping she didn’t hear him but acknowledged the difference in policies to my phone call and, in response, the woman declared aloud that they would make it free for most customers who aren't "rude" or on the phone. Feeling shocked and offended, I questioned how I was being rude, and she refused to provide an example, asserting she didn't have to.
Despite my attempts to understand, she insisted on her right to say and do as she pleased. Upset, I expressed my disappointment, mentioned my excitement about the coffee shop, but vowed never to return. Sadly, when I tasted the new coffee, it was noticeably different and even had coffee grounds in it. I paid for two drinks I couldn't enjoy. I also share that I felt discriminated against, being the only person of color present. I believe the woman was making it seem like my experience was tainted solely because I chose to talk on the phone during my break, a liberty others seemed to enjoy without repercussions but I think it’s because I might look different than customers she usually deals with.
I rarely give negative reviews or involve race, but this encounter left me with no choice. I hope the business owner addresses employee training in customer service and perhaps ensures clarity on milk preferences. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this establishment, as I believe everyone should feel welcome in a coffee shop, regardless of their appearance or communication choices
One of our favorite places for a healthy and tasty lunch. Salad and sandwiches are delicious and satisfying. Cocktails, wine and beer available too. We also took the very appealing deserts home with us. Nice view and the outside seating is great when it's warm enough. Did I mention the value for money? Exceptional!
Location setup is beautiful but menu items are inconsistent, employees have a mean case of attitude and seems to fall in line with the values of the management here. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Anyways..Not my cup of tea, they can keep it. ✌️ Hours are also marked wrong, apparently open and close when they feel like it, idk what that’s about but I’m all set with these folks.
Awful service, a young lady punished me because she made me the wrong coffee. She charged me for new coffee and again added whole milk when I very politely over-communicated I was lactose. The whole experience made me uncomfortable and I use to love this place. The young lady looked like she needed a shower and probably shouldn't be serving anyone anything. Hopefully it was just that she woke up on the wrong side of the bed because last thing I want to call her is prejudice even though that is exactly what I felt.
